Lifestyle program -
Weight loss (GLI CooL)

Are you overweight? Are you a new mom (or dad)? Do you lack daily routine and do you no longer recognize your own body? Are you noticing hormonal changes in your eating habits? Do you feel uncomfortable in your own skin or are you insecure about your looks?

Healthy eating and exercise are often the first casualties. You want to change this, but where do you start?
For whom?
For adults 18 years and older with a BMI over 30, or a BMI over 25 in combination with other health risks such as cardiovascular issues, type 2 diabetes, arthritis or sleep-apnea. Your general practitioner (GP) can refer you to our program in order to have it covered under your primary insurance. In that case you will need a referral letter.

Need help getting a referral? Contact us and we will be glad to help.

It’s also possible to participate without a medical referral. In that case you are responsible for program costs.
What
The Coaching on Lifestyle (CooL) program is a combined lifestyle intervention. You will be familiarizing yourself with eating and drinking, exercise, sleep, stress and relaxation. And investigate why your habits are what they are.

All of this is guided by a lifestyle coach. Through personal conversations with your coach and group sessions to share experiences and tips with others. The first (change) phase lasts 8 months; the second (maintenance) phase lasts 16 months.

Because being overweight also influences your emotional life (through insecurity, fear or guilt) we strive to create a safe environment in which you feel comfortable being yourself.

In addition, you learn new habits more easily when you believe in yourself, when you think it’s important and when you enjoy it. That’s why we pay special attention to these aspects.

Combined lifestyle interventions are covered through your health insurance without deductible.

Are you trying to conceive and are you overweight or obese? Does a pregnancy not come naturally? Is this starting to influence your daily habits? Healthy eating habits, relaxation, sustained sleep and a joyful relationship may start to suffer.

Since you are pregnant or trying to conceive, we think it is important to work together with your midwife and/or general practitioner. Of course, we will always consult with you first.

COLLABORATION

If you want to exercise under expert guidance, we would happily bring you in contact with your local sports and health consultant. Together with them you can investigate what type of exercise you would prefer and what exercise would fit you best.

This could be a sport but also informal exercise with others; like exercising with other parents local to you. These consultations are free. Contact us for further information.
